Meet the Savarna- Ravikant Kisana
In 60’s even elite savarna people could not dare to discuss any issue! So they have already came a long way, and we can hope on their capacity to understand needs of people below glass floor.

When I was busy making reels on my old Instagram account, now deleted, in favour of Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra and his campaign for election 2024 I came across an Ad of Buffalo Intellectuals that is organising standup show at Hyderabad. I got myself registered and attended it too.
That was my first and last face to face meeting with Ravikant. The audience was very cheerful and engaging too. This experience left an indelible mark on my mind. In that show also he informed about this book he is working on, so it was normal to order pre order his book and read it in one sitting, with many intervals infused with tea and coffee to digest his point and make it my marrow.
A critical review of our system of education, politics, businesses and government is a must at this important juncture of history of India, and Ravikant did it with facts, figures and references.
A must read for Gen Z of India irrespective of caste, class and colour. When English speaking elite Savarna, once liberal, are leaving our country in its so called AmritKaal it is author’s effort to let us understand that the onus of taking our country to make vision #INDIA2047 successful now lies on our shoulder.
In 60’s Osho did a four day tour to Bombay, now Mumbai, to meet elite Savarna and share his concern to remove hurdles, according to him, to grow our country at fast pace. He also suggested few ways to get it done.
But his advice was ignored and even he was outclassed by giving name of sex guru by the then elite Savarna but there is still time and we can get it done. Luckily he used to carry a tape recorder with him and his discussions or conversations with top businessmans of Industry (elite Savarnas as per Ravikant) including Dhirubhai, and Kalyanji-Anandji Jain of film industry are available to read in links given below. The book titled ‘Dekh Kabira Roya’ contains these conversations. The book is now available in Punjabi language only.
People of Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore and Indonesia who are equal to if not better than our OBC, SC, ST and Dalits can grow a big businessman and our even elites do not shy away to copy their business model in India. But such people of our own country! No, a big big No. The Savarnas want to continue to live with most miserable persons on this planet hating them for their poverty, laziness etc etc. This is biggest flaw in our caste system.
Together we can get it done but the glass floor needs to be broken first. As Baba Saheb says the annihilation of caste is first step towards growth of this country.
“It needs great courage to go against the flow but the reward is equally great when the direction of flow will change.” – Annonymous
I am fond of this quote as it helped me take few decisions I would not have dared to, and that became the reason what I am today.
1) Capitalism can become ground for better socialism, these conversations were recorded in Hindi. I have given links so that you can read the original too. Osho advocated capitalism that guarantees a minimum wage of ₹100/- per month for labourers and cost of items be decided accordingly. This way a minimum lifestyle can be guaranteed and as industry will grow more people will come out of poverty.
2) On poverty and Gandhism This is also tape recorded conversation between elites of India and Osho but in print form. On Gandhism and Gandhian philosophy
3) Osho’s mission On ‘dialogue should start for discussing the issue’. It means in 60’s even elite savarna people could not dare to discuss any issue! So they have already came a long way, and we can hope on their capacity to understand needs of people below glass floor and help us in getting the caste annihilated. This is also tape recorded conversation between elites and Osho during his four day visit to Bombay.
A review of the book on Amazon by Soham Pablo Banerjee is worth quoting here. “This is one of the most honest and uncomfortable books I’ve read in a long time. I’ll call it a must-read, especially if you’re an upper-caste city dweller—whether you're in India or abroad. What sets it apart is that it flips the usual script. Most books and articles on caste focus on the oppressed (which is necessary), but this one turns the spotlight on the savarnas—on us. And not in a token way, but with sharp, critical intent. I haven't come acoss another book that’s examined the behaviors, blind spots, and self-image of the upper castes with this level of clarity—and discomfort. There’s always been a need for a book like this—something that looks closely at the tiny fraction of Indians who hold most of the wealth and power, but rarely reflect on the caste privilege that props them up. The book dives deep into savarna cultural values—whether it’s the bramhin obsession with “education” or the bania focus on wealth control—and exposes how so much of it is performative and self-serving, at the cost of those excluded from those circles. It doesn’t stop there. It examines how savarna culture plays out in movies, in elite dating and marriage practices, and in the way upper castes continue to dominate institutions—often while pretending caste is no longer relevant. If this is your first time reading Dr. Ravikant, some parts may feel like a punch to the gut. But it’s a necessary punch. If more privileged readers sit with the discomfort—and actually reflect on how hollow and exclusionary our institutions are—it could lead to something better. This book doesn’t handhold. It challenges. And if you let it, it might just make you a little more self-aware than when you started, which can only be a good outcome.”
With thanks to Ravikant Kisana, Instagram, Twitter for becoming voice of more than 1.25Billion people of India as most of them are even not able to express their feelings, hurt, pain and frustration to not able to contribute their talent in growing their nation into a developed country.
