The Greatest Challange : The Golden Future -Osho
A book addressed to the intelligent people of this threatened planet. It is important to read the vision of a mystic for our golden future. It is a call to creators of the world to come together.

Osho held series of talks and got them published as a book titled (use hyperlink to read it for free online) “The Greatest Challenge :The Golden Future” in 1988, after one of his disciple shared a copy of UN resolution “Our Common Future” after a meeting at Bhutan in 1987. A sannyasin of Osho Sw Yoga Christopher handed over a copy of it to Osho.

“On 15 January 1982 he became an Osho sannyasin and was blessed with the name Sw Yoga Christopher. The same year he sat in silence with Osho for the first time at the First World Celebration in USA.
On Monday, 2 April 2012 experts and representatives from all sectors of society gathered at the United Nations, for a landmark day-long conference and two subsequent days of working groups on “ Happiness and Wellbeing; Defining a New Economic Paradigm,” hosted by the Royal Government of Bhutan.
The landmark gathering addressed next steps towards realising the vision of a new development paradigm that replaces the present narrow system based on GDP ( Gross Domestic Product) with a “ Gross National Happiness” (GNH) model. This is an important event as it integrates Sustainable Development and Wellbeing with Meditation, a process that has taken 25 years from the launch of the 1987 United Nations Report from the World Commission on Environment and Development, “Our Common Future” also known as the Brundtland Report.
Yoga Christopher presented a copy of The Brundtland Report of 1987 of UN to Osho who responded with a series of discourses in His book called “ The Greatest Challenge: the Golden Future” that addressed the intelligent people of this threatened planet.
This book presents another facet of the Osho vision, a proposal for a viable humanity; a diagnosis of the psychological and social sicknesses that divide human beings, within and without, into warring factions. It outlines the critical steps required if there is to be any future — let alone the golden future that lies within our grasp.
Bhutan is a tiny, poor, once-isolated Himalayan nation well into the process of moving from monarchy to democracy and opening to the world. Recognizing problems attending a growth-driven economic sprint in other developing countries, in the early 1970’s King Jigme Singye Wangchuck decided to make his nation’s priority not its G.D.P. but its G.N.H., or gross national happiness.
The goal ever since has been a mix of economic and social progress shaped to sustain cultural and environmental assets. In 2005 several dozen Bhutanese leaders, scholars and other citizens, attending a conference in Nova Scotia, described efforts to move from happiness as a concept to a set of policies to expand the concept of Sustainable Development.”

List of chapters of this book available online for reading is as given below:-
It is important for every intelligent person to read it carefully. It is a vision seen by a mystic 37 years before today. That time technology was not much developed so we need to understand his vision vis a vis technology available today and changes that have already taken place in our society in different form according to his vision. This way we can know where we have to put efforts to get the equivalent of the remaining vision fulfilled.
Few of his suggestions are proved as just his imagination or he may have to say so to align with his already made statements so that his commune will not get deserted by his sannyasins. A big chunk of his sannyasins belong to hippie movement, who have criticised government, society, religion etc.
A few changes that have started happening as per my understanding are as below. You need to read the book first to be able to understand the concept listed below as similar to what he described in his vision in the book titled same as this blog’s title :-
4B movement of South Korea is example of people exploring new ways of living without marriage. Sex toys have made it possible to get orgasm without a partner.
Social Media groups are like a new form of commune.
Internet has dissolved national borders and made every person a global citizen.
Fediverse and Open Source are creating a new World Order which is based on transparency and quality.
Cryptocurrency may become a form of world currency.
As per my information: The World Academy of creators science and consciousness created by Osho in his commune at Pune, India stopped functioning few years after he left his body. The biggest challenge is to bring people of consciousness ie awakened ones, to work with creators and scientists. Still I think if creators could form a global platform with local links then scientists may join and ultimately such people of consciousness may join.
My suggestions from my experiences of taking one more step in inner journey to become person of consciousness as mentioned by Osho above:-
Awareness Meditation is the way worked for me to become conscious in every act by practice it over a long period of time. I tried it first during brushing my teeth in the morning after trying 8-10 meditations over period of 15 years! So there is no need to reinvent the circle for you. May be you too find it suitable otherwise with Dynamic meditation and/or Kundalini in the evening it is suitable for most of the people. There are 110 other meditation techniques discovered by Indian Mystic Gorakhnath about 500years before and further modified by Osho for contemporary people that one can experiment and the suitable one could be practiced in routine life.
